Dennis Erb, Jr. Rolls North to Badger State Following Prairie Dirt Classic

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team has ventured north to the Badger State of Wisconsin for a lucrative week with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series, which starts tonight, July 29 at Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wisconsin. A $10,000 top prize will be on the line later tonight at Plymouth and a similar $10,000 to win show will be held tomorrow evening, July 30 at Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin.

Those two events will lead into the 32nd Annual ‘USA Nationals,’ which will be held at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin from August 1-3. A $6,000 to win preliminary event for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series will be held at CLS on Thursday, while a double set of heat races and the fast dash will be held on Friday night at the 3/8-mile oval. The ‘USA Nationals’ weekend will then conclude on Saturday with the consolation races, a last chance qualifier, and the 100-lap crown jewel headliner, which once again boasts a whopping $50,000 payday. Dennis Erb, Jr. comes into Plymouth, Shawano, and Cedar Lake sixth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. More information can be found online at www.woolms.com.

The #28 team is fresh off a hectic week in the states of Iowa and Illinois from July 24-27. On Wednesday night at the sprawling Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, Dennis timed in twelfth fastest overall in World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series qualifying prior to finishing fourth in his heat race and eighth in the $10,000 to win main event. In Thursday’s rain-postponed conclusion of a DIRTcar Summer Nationals show at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois, Dennis restarted the 40-lapper from the fifth position, but was involved in a couple of early cautions and retired from the $5,000 to win contest in the tenth spot.

Over the weekend, the 30th edition of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic’ took center stage at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. Dennis stopped the clock twenty-third quickest in Group A during WOOLMS qualifying on Friday before blasting past ten competitors during his 25-lap qualifying feature to score an impressive runner-up effort behind only $2,500 victor Brandon Sheppard. After drawing the eighth starting spot prior to the drop of the green flag in Saturday’s 100-lap ‘Prairie Dirt Classic,’ Dennis ran as high as sixth early in the 100-lap feature, which once again carried a $30,000 winner’s check. Unfortunately, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace slowed to draw a lap 89 caution flag and eventually wound up eighteenth in the final finishing order of the action-packed PDC.
