Jimmy Sharpe, Jr. Racing Set to Debut New Longhorn Car!
(SOPERTON, GEORGIA) Soperton, Georgia driver Jimmy Sharpe, Jr., who has been out of racing action since March when he entered a pair of Schaeffer's Oil Spring National Series contests to open up his 2019 campaign, is set to return to competition next Saturday night, August 24 at the state-of-the-art Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia! The FASTRAK Racing Series battle at VMS, which will boast a $3,000 payday, will serve as a tune-up race for Jimmy when he returns to the track in September for a lucrative $50,000 to win Crate Late Model extravaganza. When Jimmy does take to the track next week, he will be armed with a brand-new Longhorn Chassis racecar out of their Trinity, North Carolina shop.
"I've been covered up with work for the last few months, which is a good thing, but it has definitely taken away from my racing program lately," quoted Sharpe, Jr. this week via telephone. "Plus we switched chassis makes and just now got this new Longhorn Chassis and I'm pumped about this piece we've got in the shop now. I can't thank Heath Pittman with J&P and Sons Construction and Sweet Onion Trucking enough, along with Chris Medley from Modern Images, for all that they have done for my team with this new car. I'm ready to go racing again and hopefully we are fast right out of the box next week at Virginia Motor!"
