Jake Knowles Picks Up Durrence Layne Win at Smoky Mountain
    Extends Advantage Atop Series’ Standings

Rome, Georgia (08/19/19) – Jake Knowles padded his advantage atop the Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series standings with a Friday night win at Smoky Mountain Speedway. The victory was the fourth of 2019 for the pilot of the Knowles Race Parts & Bodies #66 Josh Roberts Trucking/ Coosa Heating & Cooling/ Longhorn Chassis Late Model.

“We hit the ground running this weekend by sweeping the program at Smoky Mountain Speedway. We had a good car on Saturday night at Duck River too, but just started a little too far back against some really good cars. To both get a win and to add to our point’s lead, I don’t think we could’ve asked for much more. A very special thanks goes out to each-and-every person, who helps make my program happen.”

On Friday evening Jake Knowles returned to the Crate Late Model ranks with the Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series-sanctioned program at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee). In a field of 23 entries, Knowles recorded the fastest lap in time trials, which positioned him on the pole for the opening night feature.

Jumping to the lead at the drop of the green flag, Jake led all 30-laps en route to his fourth win of the season and a $2,500 payday. Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), Brandon Williams, Wil Herrington, and Michael Courtney trailed him to the checkers.

The following night at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee), Knowles edged his way into the $2,500-to-win finale with the third-fastest time in his qualifying group. Starting in 6th, Jake gained two spots in the 50-lapper to place fourth behind Brandon Williams, Christian Hanger, and Wil Herrington with Cruz Skinner rounding out the Top 5.

Jake continues to lead the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Series point standings. For full results from the events as well as the latest standings, please visit www.DurrenceLayneRacing.com .
