Dennis Erb Racing Heads East with World of Outlaws Late Model Series for Triple Shot

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing made the trek west from their Carpentersville, Illinois race shop to the Hawkeye State of Iowa from September 12-14 for the 16th edition of the 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' The three-day crown jewel event drew 55 competitors to the 1/2-mile, semi-banked Marion County fairgrounds speedplant and action kicked off with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary programs. On Thursday night in the weekend lid lifter, Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in eighteenth fastest in Group B during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying, finished second in his heat race, and later climbed seven spots in the 25-lap main event on his way to a steady eleventh place showing. At Knoxville on Friday evening, Dennis once again placed second in his heat race prior to slipping back to another eleventh place performance in the night's 25-lapper.

By virtue of racking up the fourteenth best point night during preliminary action, Dennis earned the rights to the outside of the seventh row for the start of Saturday's 100-lap 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.' Eying the whopping $40,000 top prize, Dennis knocked on the door to the top ten in the early laps and eventually wound up seventeenth in the final finishing order of the extra-distance affair. You can read more about each of the three shows from Knoxville Raceway by pointing your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com.

Following a couple of weeks away from the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tour, the #28 team will head east with the national series to the states of New York and Pennsylvania from September 19-21 for a trio of $10,000 to win throwdowns. Up first will be a visit to Stateline Speedway in Busti, New York on Thursday night, while Friday evening’s contest will take place at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, New York. The tripleheader finale on Saturday will be the 21st Annual ‘Late Model National Open’ at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Dennis comes into the East Coast swing sixth in the latest WOOLMS point standings. More information on the weekend triple shot can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.
