Jeff Taylor Wins Ron Ghormley Memorial in I-30 Speedway Thriller
Preps to Chase Mega Payday in Race For Hope 71
Cave City, Arkansas (09/23/19) – Jeff Taylor won Saturday night’s Ron Ghormley Memorial in thrilling fashion at I-30 Speedway. The victory was worth $3,000 for the driver of the Industrial Electric No. 5 Spur Bar/ Wehrs Machine/ Provence Construction/ Shaw Race Car Modified.
“We had a heck of a race with Drew [Armstrong] and Curtis [Cook] for the win at I-30,†Taylor noted. “Those guys are hard to handle anywhere but especially at I-30. I kept digging and was finally able to get to the lead with about 10 to go and from there held on for the win. Hats off to the track staff because we could race all over that thing.
“Everyone at Shaw Race Cars is busting their tails, and it’s showing with what we are accomplishing at the track. This is a big week for us as we head to Batesville for the Race For Hope 71. We’re definitely gunning for that $15,000 winner’s check.â€
Jeff Taylor made the short trip to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) on Saturday evening for the Ron Ghormley Memorial. After starting the night off with a dominating heat race victory from the fourth starting spot, Jeff started the main event on the outside front row. He slipped back to third in the early going before mounting a charge to the lead with just 10-laps to go. From that point Taylor outran Drew Armstrong and Curtis Cook through lapped-traffic late in the race capturing his eighth win of the season and a $3,000 payday. J.T. Goodson, and Keaton Atkinson completed the Top-5 finishers.

This weekend – September 24-28 – Jeff has his sights set on winning the Race For Hope 71 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas). The week-long event culminates with a $15,000-to-win/ $2,000-to-start, IMCA Modified finale on Saturday night.
