Dereck Ramirez Reaches Victory Lane in Fall Jamboree Opener
USRA Fall Nationals at Vado Speedway Park Next Up
Woodward, Oklahoma (09/23/19) – Deer Creek Speedway has been a place, where Dereck Ramirez has always seemed to struggle to find the balance on his racecar. However, he changed all of that on Thursday night by piloting his Ramirez Motorsports No. 4r Koda Services/ Boom-Test Well Service/ Hughes Race Car/Cornett Racing Engine Modified to the $5,000 victory in the opening round of the 21st annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at the 3/8-mile oval.
“This is one of those places where in racing this is where you shine, Eldora for the Late Models and Deer Creek for the Modifieds, and it’s so great to actually do it,†an emotional Ramirez said in victory lane. “I’ve struggled and struggled here, and I finally got something figured out.
“I’m so happy to run good here. You’ve got probably the greatest fans in dirt track racing for us, and I just never ran good here. I never showed my true talent to these people, and I’m glad it finally shined on Thursday night. We had a good car the rest of the weekend and came away with two more Top-10 finishes to show for our efforts.â€
On Thursday night Dereck Ramirez invaded Deer Creek Speedway (Deer Creek, Minnesota) as the 21st annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree came to life. Drawing 68 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries, Ramirez jumped up three spots in his heat race to pick up the 10-lap victory.
Starting the feature in the second position, Dereck overtook Brandon Davis for the lead on lap seven and from that point rocketed to his sixth win of the season. Rodney Sanders, Brandon Davis, Hunter Marriott, and Zack VanderBeek completed the Top-5 finishers. He earned $5,000 for his triumph.
For the second round on Friday, Dereck recorded a fourth-place finish in his heat race, which relegated him to a B-Main. Finishing third in the consolation race, Ramirez earned the 24th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Dereck impressively advanced 20 positions in the 40-lapper to finish fourth behind Rodney Sanders, Dustin Sorensen, and Jake O’Neil.
On Saturday night, Ramirez followed up a third-place finish in his heat race with a 15-lap consolation victory. With $10,000 on the line in the main event, Dereck gained ten spots to register a seventh-place finish.
Dereck finished in second in the Casey’s Hunt for the Cup point standings and sits in second USMTS National Championship point's race.

The team will now take a break before returning to competition on October 25-27 with the 20th annual Rancho Milagro USRA Fall Nationals at the brand-new Vado Speedway Park (Vado, New Mexico). The weekend is headlined by a $20,000-to-win finale on Sunday evening.
