Austin Hubbard Makes Triumphant 2020 Season Debut
SEAFORD, Del. (06/11/20) – Austin Hubbard made a triumphant debut to his 2020 season on Friday night. Hubbard piloted the Bubba and Billy Hubbard-owned No. 38 to the winner’s circle at Dixieland Speedway in Elizabeth City, N.C.
“It was awesome to start this season with a victory on Friday night,†Hubbard commented. “It’s great to finally get this season underway and even better to start it off with a win. Thanks to my team for all their hard work and thanks to all the great sponsors that support my racing career. Also thanks to all the fans, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.â€
Earning the second-starting position for the Budweiser Allstar Late Model A-Main via preliminary events, Hubbard overtook polesitter Ryan Steely through lapped-traffic on the seventh lap and led the remaining distance, en route to his first win of the season and $1,000 payday. Tom Wilson, John Staton, Ryan Steeley, and Billy Hubbard trailed him to the checkers in the 30-lap affair.
The following night at Delaware International Speedway (Delmar, Del.) piloting the No. 49 Late Model fielded by Karl and Melanie Kink, Hubbard was one of 20 RUSH Late Models on hand for the track’s season-opener.
