Earl Pearson Jr. Continues Speedweeks 2022 Trek
NIPOMO, Ca. (02/01/22) – Papich Racing is the latest addition to the MyRacePass family with a brand-new website launched at www.PapichRacing.com .
The team fields entries for 2021 Slocum 50 Champion, Jason Papich and four-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Champion, Earl Pearson Jr.
Each driver utilizes Longhorn Chassis with Clements Racing Engines.
The team made their 2022 debut during the 16th annual Wild West Shootout at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway Park in mid-January.
Pearson Jr. enjoyed a fast start to the year with five Top-4 four finishes and only one DNF. Notably on January 14, Pearson Jr. led 12 of the first 14 laps before finishing 14th in the $5,000-to-win affair, and then also charged to a runner-up finish in the $25,000-to-win finale on January 16.
Jason Papich also showed speed throughout the six-race miniseries with a best finish of seventh in the $5,000-to-win, 40-lap feature on January 15.
Meanwhile, Pearson Jr. embarked on the start of the 2022 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series campaign last weekend at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.). with the Super Bowl of Racing. Things started on a rough note with a tech infraction on Thursday night hampering Earl’s efforts. He was able to utilize a provisional to start the feature in 25th before finishing 13th.
The Florida native bounced back on Friday to finish fourth before notching a seventh-place finish in Saturday’s $15,000-to-win finale.
On Monday night the LOLMDS action shifted south to Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.), where Earl fought the handle to a 17th-place finish in the $10,000-to-win affair.
Full results from the early season events are available at www.WildWestShootout.net and www.LucasDirt.com .
Pearson Jr. continues his LOLMDS Speedweeks trek with a $10,000-to-win LOLMDS event tonight at Bubba Raceway Park before shifting to All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) for a $10,000-to-win event on Thursday, a $12,000-to-win program on Friday, and a $15,000-to-win event on Saturday evening.
