R.J. Conley Guns for Fourth Victory in a Row Tonight in Charlie Swartz Classic
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley continued his winning ways on Saturday night, June 10, as he picked up his third straight feature victory in as many weekends! At Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday, R.J. swept the unsanctioned show by earning Fast Time honors during qualifying and winning his heat race. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace then started the 25-lap main event from the pole position, led every lap, and came out on top to pocket the $3,000 first place prize money ahead of a top five that consisted of runner-up Kirk Phillips, Ryan Markham, Zach Milbee, and Andy Bond!
His brother Rod Conley made his way north on June 8-10 to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 29th edition of the 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' In the pair of $12,000 to win prelim shows to start the weekend, Rod finished eighth in his heat race and fifth in his B-Main on Thursday, while he placed eighth in his heat race and seventh in his B-Main on Friday. With a $129,000 paycheck up for grabs in last Saturday's grand finale, Rod ran eighth in his loaded heat race and ninth in his consolation event. Unfortunately, "Hot Rod" was not able to transfer into any of the three main events during his stint at the "Big E." Complete results from both Atomic Speedway and Eldora Speedway can be viewed online at www.atomicspeedway.net and www.eldoraspeedway.com.
Both Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers will be in action at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio later tonight, June 17 for the 3rd Annual ‘Charlie Swartz Classic.’ The unsanctioned Super Late Model special event will be on the undercard of the $22,554 to win ‘Dean Knittel Memorial’ for the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car tour. R.J. and Rod will both vie for the $5,000 payday later tonight at PRP with Rod looking for his first win of 2023 and R.J. seeking his fourth straight triumph.
