Conley Motorsports, Inc. Set to Invade Atomic Speedway on August 23 for Summer Sizzle
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams ventured to Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio last Friday night, August 15 for the annual running of the 'Ike Moler Memorial.' The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series sanctioned the 18th edition of the storied race and a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs. R.J. Conley ran third in his heat race and later moved up a spot during the 30-lap feature to place sixth at the checkers behind only winner Jason Jameson, Adam Stricker, Rusty Schlenk, James Rice, and Colten Burdette. Rod Conley, who ran fourth in his heat race, advanced past a pair of cars in the main event to finish in the eighth position.
Rod and his #71R team then headed south on Saturday evening, August 16 to Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky. The 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial' took center stage at the Bluegrass State oval and a $12,059 payday was on the line for the Super Late Models. After finishing sixth in both his heat race and his B-Main, Rod relied on an American Late Model Iron-Man Series provisional to gain access into the 59-lapper. The Wheelersburg, Ohio native then passed seven competitors during the 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial' on his way to salvaging a thirteenth place performance. Next up for both CMI teams will be a short trip north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday, August 23. The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series will preside over the ‘Summer Sizzle’ program and both Rod and R.J. Conley will vie for the $5,000 first place prize money. “Hot Rod” comes into Atomic Speedway tomorrow sitting third in the latest version of the American Late Model Iron-Man Series point standings.
