Dennis Erb, Jr. Eleventh in DTWC; Looks for Another Fall Classic Title at Whynot
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) With 102 races already in the books for Dennis Erb Racing in 2025, the season continues this weekend at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi! The 31st edition of the Coors Light ‘Fall Classic’ will take place at Whynot on October 24-25. A pair of split-field, $3,000 to win prelim features will take place later tonight, while the big weekend will conclude on Saturday evening with a 60-lap headliner that will boast a $20,000 payday.
Dennis Erb, Jr. has a long history of racking up top fives in the unsanctioned contest including picking up a pair of ‘Fall Classic’ victories back in 2020 and 2021. Last year, Dennis earned Fast Time honors for the event and led a few laps early in the A-Main before recording a solid fourth place effort. Over the October 17-18 weekend, the #28 team was in the pit area at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio for the 45th edition of the 'Dirt Track World Championship.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the DTWC and a whopping $100,000 top prize was up for grabs in the tour finale. With 59 Super Late Model competitors in action, Dennis timed in twenty-third quickest in Group B during Friday's qualifying session prior to blasting up to finish second in his loaded heat race behind only winner Garrett Alberson.
The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then rolled off from the outside of the fifth row on Saturday evening chasing the lucrative six-figure payday. Dennis raced hard throughout the 100-lap crown jewel headliner trying to land a top ten performance before ultimately crossing underneath the checkered flag in the eleventh finishing position.
