Dennis Erb, Jr. Grabs Top Ten in Swamp Cabbage 100 Finale; Ocala Next on Speedweeks Slate

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The World of Outlaws Late Model Series made their inaugural visit to Hendry County Motorsports Park on February 20-21 and Dennis Erb, Jr. competed in the two-day 'Swamp Cabbage 100.' In Friday's weekend lid lifter, which boasted a $12,000 first place prize, Dennis timed in fifteenth quickest overall during the qualifying session prior to placing fifth in his loaded heat race. After starting the 40-lap feature from the inside of the eighth row, Dennis ran as high as twelfth before finishing fifteenth at the unfurling of the checkered flag.

On Saturday night in the 'Swamp Cabbage 100' grand finale, Dennis knocked down the seventh fastest lap overall during time trials, but later slipped to finish fifth in his heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then rolled off from the inside of the seventh row in the 60-lap headliner and ultimately worked his way past five competitors. At the finish of the $20,000 to win contest, Dennis found himself in the eighth finishing position. He now sits ninth in the latest version of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings exiting the Clewiston, Florida oval. Complete results from the entire weekend can be found online by logging onto www.woolms.com.

The Dennis Erb Racing team is currently in the pit area at Ocala Speedway, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over a busy five-race week from February 24-28 at the former Bubba Raceway Park. Things kick off with a pair of $7,000 to win showdowns on Tuesday and Wednesday. The ante is then upped on Thursday with a $10,000 to win shootout leading into Friday’s penultimate ‘Winternationals’ event, which will shell out a $12,000 winner’s check. The grand finale in Ocala, Florida on Saturday evening will pay a whopping $25,000 to the victor.

Each of the five shows this week - starting tonight - will be broadcast LIVE to subscribers of FloRacing with hot laps starting at 6:00pm eastern time. More information on each race can be accessed by pointing your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com.
