Dirt Late Model Dream Begins Wednesday

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 1, 2026) — A busy week on the road with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series yielded Nick Hoffman the richest payday of his career, a six-figure score in the Blaster 57 Special at the newly revamped Mansfield Speedway.

Hoffman, who made some of his first Dirt Late Model starts during the Dirt Late Model Million in 2018 at the same Ohio oval that has since sat dormant, overtook Garrett Alberson on lap 46 and led the final 11 circuits en route to the $100,057 victory, thanks to an enhanced bonus from the Niss family.

“It’s unreal,” Hoffman said. “I came here for the Dirt Million [in 2018], those were my first couple starts in a Late Model, and hell, that was eight years ago now. Been through a lot of stuff, a lot of different car owners, great car owners. If it wasn’t for all of them, I wouldn’t be here either. Man, I just don’t know what to say. Thank you Matt Tifft for putting up the extra money.”

While the historic weekend ended in victory lane, Hoffman’s week began on Wednesday with a run in the postponed Connor Bobik Memorial from May 16 at Marion Center Raceway. He rallied to finish 13th in the 60-lap opener after suffering a flat tire while running on lap 37.

The next night, Hoffman lowered the track record in time trials at Wayne County Speedway before backing it up with a heat race win and a second-place finish in the feature.

From there, Hoffman joined a field of 45 World of Outlaws entries at the revived Mansfield Speedway for the two-day Blaster 57 Special. Recent renovations created rough track conditions throughout the weekend, but Hoffman secured a spot in Friday’s preliminary feature with a runner-up finish in his heat race. Thanks to a generous donation from Dan and Brenda Niss, the preliminary feature purse was boosted from $12,000 to $100,000-to-win, and Hoffman went on to finish seventh.

On Saturday, Hoffman followed up the fastest overall qualifying time with a heat race victory. He overtook pole-sitter Garrett Alberson following a lap-46 restart and pulled away to capture the 57-lap victory — worth $100,057 after the Niss family boosted the purse for a second consecutive night.

“The racetrack had character,” said Hoffman. “I had a little bit different tire combination on than I feel like the rest of the field, so I knew that the late part of that race it would come to me. So I just pressured and pressured and was able to get by (Alberson).

Hoffman is currently 11 points behind Bobby Pierce for the lead in the latest World of Outlaws standings.

Hoffman is set to take on the Dirt Late Model Dream this weekend at the iconic Eldora Speedway. A FloRacing Night in America event kicks off the busy week on Wednesday, with Hoffman scheduled to return Friday for his preliminary night before Saturday’s $100,000-to-win finale.
