Brandon Sheppard Wins Fourth Prairie Dirt Classic
Rocket1 Racing Driver Scores $68,500 Payday at FALS
SHINNISTON, W.Va. (July 27, 2026) — Brandon Sheppard put together another memorable week in the Midwest, capped by his fourth career Prairie Dirt Classic victory Saturday night at Fairbury Speedway.
Driving the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket Chassis Late Model, Sheppard powered to the $50,000 winner's share in the 100-lap World of Outlaws Late Models Series crown jewel, while collecting an additional $18,500 for leading 37 laps en route to the $68,500 payday.
“Stressful, man. The restarts are stressful. It's nice being out front with the restarts, but at the same time, you don't know when somebody's gonna sneak in there on you and get past you,” Sheppard said after Saturday’s triumph at Fairbury. “You’re just kind of flying by the seat of your pants and by what feels good at that time. Nobody’s telling you where to go, it's all on you. Sometimes I like them situations better, and sometimes it's better for somebody to tell you where to go.”
Sheppard's Prairie Dirt Classic triumph came at the end of a productive week that began Tuesday at Lincoln Speedway, roughly 50 miles from his hometown of New Berlin, Illinois.
Sheppard won his heat race before taking the checkered flag in the 50-lap FloRacing Night in America feature, outrunning Shannon Babb to claim the $20,000 victory.
The Rocket1 Racing driver then traveled to Fairbury Speedway for Wednesday's FloRacing Night in America event, where he finished fifth before returning Friday night and securing his spot in the Prairie Dirt Classic finale with a showdown victory.
Sheppard started Saturday's Prairie Dirt Classic from the outside of the front row following the redraw and spent the opening portion of the race chasing down early pacesetter Trey Mills. On lap 64, Sheppard made his move for the lead and never looked back, leading the remaining 37 laps to secure his fourth Prairie Dirt Classic victory.
The victory marked Sheppard's 13th win of the season aboard the Rocket1 Racing entry and added another crown jewel trophy to his already impressive résumé.

Sheppard’s next event takes the Rocket1 Racing team north to Cedar Lake Speedway’s USA Nationals. Preliminary action on Thursday and Friday will set the stage for Saturday’s $100,000-to-win main event.
Sheppard will be looking to capture his first Eagle trophy since 2018.
