Jon Henry Rattles Off Two More Top Five Finishes

ADA, OH (7/26/11) – Current Sunoco American Late Model Series points leader Jon Henry rattled off two more top five finishes over the weekend, giving him nine top five finishes in his last ten races. In addition, Henry has four wins over the ten-race stretch.

In Friday night’s Sunoco ALMS race at Hartford Motor Speedway in Hartford, Michigan, Henry rallied from his 16th starting position to notch a strong fourth place finish. The top five run secured his spot at the top of the Sunoco ALMS point standings. On Saturday at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio, Henry again worked his way to the front of the field, starting 11th and finishing 2nd in the A-Main.

As the second half of season continues on, Henry and Mike Lawrence have mutually agreed to part ways for the remainder of the 2011 racing season. Henry drove for Lawrence Motorsports in a few events earlier this year.

“Mike is a great person that puts his heart and soul into this sport,” Henry said. “I have a lot of respect for he and his wife Rose. I recently took up a few sponsorship agreements that put us in a tough situation. After talking with Mike, we as team have decided that with the continued success in our family owned number 15, and with the comfort level I have with my racecar, we will finish out the 2011 season in our own equipment. I truly thank Mike for the opportunity and wish him nothing but success.”

This weekend, Henry will look to capitalize on his six wins at Attica Raceway Park on Friday night when the Sunoco ALMS series invades the third-mile oval. On Saturday, Henry will be running a regular show at Oakshade Raceway.
