Jimmy Mars Set to Tackle Volusia Speedway Park and UNOH DIRTcar Nationals!
(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) After starting his 2012 racing season with a trio of Top Five finishes in the ‘Wild West Shootout’ at the USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona last month, Jimmy Mars is set to return to action next week (February 20-25) at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The 41st Annual ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ will be held at the Daytona Beach area speedplant next week and six Dirt Late Model programs are on tap.
Both the UMP DIRTcar Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will preside over events next week at VSP. The first three races will pay $7,000 to the winner, while the final trio of shows boast a $10,000 top prize. Jimmy had a fantastic 2011 version of the ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals,’ as he recorded four Top Five efforts last year including an impressive $7,000 triumph on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. “We came home from Arizona and got all of our equipment back together and got caught up at the shop,†quoted Mars this week. “It has been a busy few weeks around here, but we are ready to head south to Volusia. We had some pretty good runs there last year, including a win, so we definitely want to back that up again this year. The track has been in great shape here lately, so hopefully that continues throughout this year’s version of the DIRTcar Nationals.â€
