Rick Eckert Fourth in Mid-Atlantic Spring Championship; WOOLMS Tripleheader Next

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) The Rick Eckert Racing team continued their 2012 journey on Saturday evening, May 19 with a trip to the pristine Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia for the 'Mid-Atlantic Spring Championship.' Rick Eckert started off the night by laying down the fastest lap of the 33 entrants during Ultimate Super Late Model Series qualifying and later finishing second in his heat race. "Scrub" then drove a steady race in the $10,000 to win, 50-lap feature event, as he hung around the top five before posting a fourth place effort behind only winner Steve Shaver, Jeremy Miller, and Dale McDowell. Full results from VMS can be accessed by clicking on www.ultimatesupers.com.

Rick and his #24 team will jump back on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series tour over the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend. A huge tripleheader weekend is in store for the cars and stars of the WOOLMS in the states of Ohio and West Virginia. Rick is second in the series point standings heading into the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio tonight, the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on Saturday, May 26, and the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia on Sunday, May 27. The events at Wayne County and I-77 will pay $10,000 to the winner, while the inaugural ‘Jackpot 100’ at Tyler County on Saturday boasts a hefty $25,000 payday.
