Greg Lucas & GT Racing win first night out… Welcomes new Marketing Partner; Schaeffer’s Specialized Lubricants.
Greg Lucas spent most of the winter semi-retired from racing after an illustrious career, filled with many wins & championships. Retirement thoughts began to fade away, and soon there was a brand new Larry Shaw modified sitting in the GT Racing garage. Greg & Todd went to work preparing the new car to their liking and got it ready to make their season debut at Lucky 7 Speedway on June 16th. All their hard work paid off and by the end of the night, the team was standing in victory lane. The next Friday night the team unloaded at Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom Kentucky. The night started off great, but with Greg leading the feature, a rare miscue turned the Pinetop Motors #32 around the ring and was hit hard by oncoming traffic. The night ended in disappointment, with the GT Racing mount on the hook with frame & suspension damage.
“The car was good the first 2 times we raced†said Lucas from the GT Racing shop Monday night. “It is a little different then what I was used to and I am still learning how to adjust it. I went a little too far on the set-up at Isom. I hate it for Todd and Mickey and the whole crew. Everyone works really hard and Todd & I can’t thank the crew and our sponsors enough for their help and support. We’ll get this car re-clipped and we will go racing again. Family is important to all of us, so we really do not have a set schedule for the rest of 2012. We plan on racing locally and also hitting the road if there is a pretty good paying show within about 3 hours when our schedule permits†stated Greg.
Greg Lucas and GT Racing would like to welcome Schaeffer’s Racing Oil as a new marketing partner for 2012. “I am extremely pleased to have the help from Alan & Schaeffer’s Oil†said Greg. “I have used their product in the past, without sponsorship and it is my choice of lubricants. In this area of Kentucky, with all the coal & lumber industry, everyone needs to take a look at Schaeffer’s products. Racing is just a small part of what they have to offer. We are very honored as a team to represent Schaeffer Oil†added Lucas.
