Jimmy Mars Bags $7,000 for George Scheffler Memorial Title; Three ALMS Shows Next!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Menomonie, Wisconsin star Jimmy Mars recorded his biggest victory to date in 2015 on Sunday, August 30 in the 6th Annual 'George Scheffler Memorial' at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! Jimmy won his heat race from the fifth starting spot and later rolled off from the outside of the second row in the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series feature event.

Jimmy then worked his way to the front of the field and overtook leader Chad Simpson at the halfway mark of the 50-lap headliner. He then led the remainder of the distance to pocket the $7,000 winner's check over teammate A.J. Diemel, Chad Simpson, Mitch McGrath, and Mike Mullen! Complete results from the 'George Scheffler Memorial' can be accessed online at www.cornbeltclash.com.

“It was a good night for us and the George Scheffler Memorial is a special win,” stated Mars this week. “The car performed well in the heat race and throughout the feature. It was cool to finish one-two with A.J. (Diemel) and race with him for the lead for a while. We have been working on some new stuff and trying some things, so hopefully we have hit on a little something for the races here at the end of the year.”

Next up for Mars Racing will be a huge American Late Model Series (ALMS) tripleheader over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Jimmy will enter events at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois, Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from September 4-6. A pair of $5,000 top prizes will be on the line later tonight at Farmer City and on Saturday at FALS, while Sunday’s weekend finale at the “Big E” will pay $3,000 to the winner. Additional information concerning the triple shot can be viewed by clicking on www.americanlatemodelseries.com.
