Garrett Alberson Wins Leesville 171 Speedway Thriller
Shreveport, Louisiana (11/16/15) – Entering Saturday night’s event, Garrett Alberson had been painfully close to victory in 2015 in the Childress Fishing & Rental #F5 Black Diamond/ Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model. Unfortunately he had come up just short of the top spot in multiple events. However, when the checkered flag dropped on the $3,000-to-win affair at Leesville 171 Speedway all of the pain was gone, and all that was left pure happiness for the talented, young racer.
“This one was a long time coming,†Alberson said with a huge smile. “Mr. Childress has given me a dream opportunity with this team, and I’ve wanted nothing more than to give him a win this year. Tonight we finally made that happen, and it feels amazing.â€
On Saturday night Alberson traveled to Leesville 171 Speedway (Leesville, Louisiana) for the Bash on the Bayou, paying $3,000 to the feature winner. Starting in the 6th position for his heat race, Alberson improved four spots, recording a 2nd place finish. Earning a front row starting spot for the feature, Garrett waited until the last lap to make his move. Battling in lap traffic, Garrett Alberson took the lead from B.J. Robinson on the final circuit scoring his first victory of the 2015 season.
“That was a tough situation for B.J. (Robinson), and I was just able to capitalize,†said Alberson. “I’m just so thankful for the chance to drive this awesome hot rod.â€
