Rural Retreat, Virginia – The FASTRAK Racing Series traveled to Wythe Raceway located in Rural Retreat, Virginia on Sunday night September 3rd for the annual "East Coast Rumble" Pro Late Model Nationals FASTRAK Tour event paying $3,000 to win. Hometown driver Brent Hilton of Rural Retreat, Virginia held off strong advances from Kenny Peeples and Jensen Ford to score the win. It was the first career FASTRAK Racing Series victory for the 18 year old.
The feature event was red flagged for 30 minutes after Justin Williams flipped in turn four before a lap was completed. Williams was transported to a local hospital for observation, though he was alert after exiting the car. He was released after tests came back clear.
Once the feature returned to green flag racing, Hilton was able to pull away by several car lengths over Matt Long and Walker Arthur who battled for the second place position for several laps. A caution on lap 28 saw both Long and Arthur retire from the event.
On the ensuing restart Hilton pulled out in front again, as Ford gave chase around the high side. Peeples was able to pass Ford in the low groove to finish second. Jensen Ford, Benji Hicks, and Tyler Bare rounded out the top five finishers. Terry Cregger set fast time in qualifying with a time of 18.698 seconds. Heat race winners included Walker Arthur, Brent Hilton, and Kenny Peeples. Consolation race winner was Matthew Nance.
