Additional Money Added To The Pro Late Model Nationals at Wythe Raceway
(Four Oaks,NC) Fred Brown is the long time promoter of the 1/2 mile Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat,VA which has been the "Best kept little secret" as some say which offers some of the best dirt track racing in the Country in the "Commonwealth of Virginia". On Tuesday night on "The Fastest Hour on Dirt Radio" FASTRAK Weekly LIVE Presented by FK Rod Ends which is the "Official" Weekly Radio show to the FASTRAK Racing Series Fred Brown was on the airwaves with a very special announcement in regards to the 8th Annual FASTRAK Pro Late Model Nationals. He informed a massive listening audience that was tuned in to listen that Jason & Judy Short from Short Way Real Estate are putting up an additional $800 Dollars to put into the already impressive payout of $7,500 to WIN $750 to START Feature Main event for Sunday night.
Jason Short was the former car owner of the #54b of the defending FASTRAK Southeast-Mideast Champion Brandon Umberger. They had an awesome run racing on the FASTRAK tour all over the Country but during the 2012 season Jason had some former race team members who couldn't commit to being at the races and taking the time during the week to working on the Barry Wright Chassis during the week and also the mishap that also involved 2 of the race cars sustaining heavy damage during the year the teams parted way which led to Umberger hooking up with the #44w racing team of John Broce Jr. from Falls Mills,VA. Short Way Real Esate with Jason's wife Judy Short was always decaled on the side of the #54b of Umberger during the career racing with the Short Racing #54 Team. Jason & Judy own the business Short Way Real Estate and still wanna be much involved with the FASTRAK Racing Series & Wythe Raceway thus the reason into the extra money for the coming weeks Pro Late Model Nationals at the 1/2 mile Wythe Raceway.
The way the additional money will be distributed throughout the field will go as follows: $200 Dollars will be put up for grabbing the "VP race for the Pole Qualifying" Presented by Short Way Real Estate this will be awarded to the Driver that lays down the quickest lap around the 1/2 mile high banked facility. Then on Saturday night after the conclusion of pocketing $200 from Qualifying will come the chance to get $100 Dollars in one of the 4 Heat races. After the conclusion of the 4 heat races and another $400 dollars is handed out to the 4 Heat Winners then the 4 drivers will then battle it out "under the lights" for the FASTRAK Racing Series Main Event for Saturday in the Short Way $200 Dollar Dash 4 Cash. In addition to the Dash 4 Cash $200 Dollars to the winner it will also set up the first 2 Rows for Sunday night's 80 Lap Feature for $7,500 to WIN!!

The Format for the 2012 FASTRAK Pro Late Model Nationals at Wythe Raceway will kick off Saturday September 1st for Hot Laps (practice) followed by "VP Race for the Pole Qualifying" Presented by Short Way Real Estate and then the Heat Races (no-one is locked in from qualifying they will have to run heat races.) On Sunday September 2nd the event will get under way with 2 B-Mains (consi races) which basically is the FINAL last chance to make it in to the BIG SHOW.
Once the 24 car field is set and Special Driver Introductions are complete the A-Main Feature race will consist of 80 laps Total Distance with the always exciting Double File Starts/Restarts. On Lap 40 when the field has cycled around for halfway the caution will be given to the field and the FASTRAK machines will then make they're Pit Stops on the front straight in front of the fans. Stan Lester will be calling out what the teams are doing to the cars, what adjustments they are making, shocks, air pressure, wedge, etc.
