PRO Dirt Car Series Double Shot This Weekend
Columbus, Mississippi (06/21/11) – The P.R.O. Dirt Car Series Super Late Model tour will return to action this weekend, June 24th-25th, with events at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) and Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama).
Through the first three events of the season there have been three different winners on the tour as Anthony Burroughs, Josh Putnam, and Ronnie Johnson have all raced their way into victory lane. The PRO Dirt Car Series competitors will be going head-to-head with a talented field of local competitors, who burn the track up on a weekly basis.
Among the tour drivers expected to appear this weekend are Eric Cooley Dean Carpenter, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, Tony Shelton, Jay Burchfield, Jason Milam, Johnny Stokes, Mark Dodson, Ray Mauldin, Chase Washington, and more.
Eric Cooley currently leads the Jeff Burns Racing Engines Rookie of the Year points over Tony Shelton.
On Friday, June 24th the PRO Dirt Car Series competitors will make their first trip of the year to Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for a $2,000 to win/$150 to start event at the "Baddest Bullring in the South". On Saturday, June 25th, the tour will make its first ever trip to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama). The event will see the competitors waging war on the high-banks in a program will include time trials, b-mains, and a 40 lap, $2,500 to win/$150 to start main event.
