SOMERSET, KY (September 1, 2011)—The STARS Volunteer Racing Series have just announced the finale event in the 2011 Championship Points Chase. Tennessee Hot Shoe Ross White of Karns and "The EarthShaker" Eric Jacobsen of California along with a bunch of other STARS and CARS of Dirt Track Super Late Model racing will head into the last weekend of events at a duo of events on September 16th at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA and then for the first-ever, visit the historic Cleveland (TN) Speedway on Saturday, September 17th.
It just been confirmed the final event of the season in the points battle will be during the 8th Annual Jimmy Mowery Memorial, a Triple Crown Feature format paying $1,000 to win / $100 to start each 20-lap feature. The total payout being more than the normal $3,000 to win STARS VRS purse. More information will be released on the finale event at Cleveland Speedway in the coming days but some bonuses have already been placed. For a driver whom wins two out of the three feature ($300) or if a driver wins all three features they will receive a $500 bonus.
‘We are incredibly excited to visit the Cleveland Speedway in September 17th for what is sure to be an awesome finale weekend at two very racy race tracks,’ stated Series President Chris Tilley. ‘What better way to end the points chase at a historic East Tennessee track, I personally have worked with Mr. Morrow and his crew during the last few years on Ray Cook’s Southern Nationals Series and they do a tremendous job and the race track is always racey’ concluded Tilley.
