    Most, Leighton, Jr. are SLMR winners

    The SLMR series was in action on both Thursday and Saturday night this past weekend in quest of the Malvernbank.com “Race for the Safe.” First, on Thursday, June 21 at Raceway Park in Jefferson, South Dakota, Red Oak, Iowa’s Josh Most started fifth in his IMCA package Late Model and drove to the win. Mike Marushak was second, Mike Collins third, Justin Zeitner fourth and Bill Leighton, Jr. fifth

    The following sponsor contingencies were awarded:

    Justin Zeitner – Hoosier Tire Hard Charger Award
    Justin Zeitner – VP Racing Fuels Heartland Top Qualifier Award
    Robbie Anderson – Action Signs/Speedway Graphics Last Man in Award
    Scott Koskovich – Bernheisel Hard Luck Award

    Then on Saturday night at the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska it was Bill Leighton, Jr. of Omaha picking up the win. Tad Pospisil finished second, Kyle Berck third, Travis (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)es fourth and Justin Zeitner fifth.

    Justin Zeitner leads the “Race for the Safe” point battle with Travis (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)es just eight points behind. Mike Collins, Mike Marushak and Bill Leighton, Jr. round out the top five. The SLMR now heads into the busiest part of its season with races at Wagner Speedway in Wagner, South Dakota on July 4, US30 Speedway in Columbus, Nebraska on July 5, the Junction Motor Speedway on July 7 and then the Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Nebraska on July 8.
