2nd Annual Rockabilly 45 on Tap for CCSDS Competitors this Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (09/04/12) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model tour is preparing for one of its biggest events of the year as this weekend the tour will invade Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) for the 2nd Annual Rockabilly 45.

For 2012 the format has been changed to be more driver and fan friendly. In 2011 the event saw Super Late Model pilots competing in double heat races on Friday night and then a b-main and the finale on Saturday night. However, for this year's edition of the event a complete show will be contested each night. The top four finishers from Friday night's program will automatically lock into Saturday night's $3,000-to-win finale and will join the top drivers in passing points from Saturday night's heat race action in a dash to determine the way that the top rows line up for the finale. Friday night's program will be headlined by a 33 lap feature, which will pay $1,500-to-win and $300-to-start, while Saturday night's finale will include a $3,000-to-win and $300-to-start, 45 lap event.

Heading into the weekend's action Texarkana, Texas' driver, Jon Mitchell, holds a four point advantage over Robert Baker in the CCSDS standings. Brandon Smith, Curtis Cook, Jon Kirby, Keith Lawson, Chandler Petty, Kyle Beard, Tommy Surrett, and Johnny Virden round out the top ten in the current standings.

Robert Baker continues to hold a dominant lead in the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle over Chandler Petty, and Kenneth Jackson.

Open Wheel Modifieds will also be in action as they battle for $2,000-to-win and $300-to-start in Saturday night's finale. A full Factory Stock program accompanies the show on Friday night, while a complete Street Stock and Mini Stock program will be on tap for Saturday night.
Action starts this Friday night at 6:30. General admission ticket prices will be: Friday night - $15 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Saturday night - $20 for adults, $10 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Pit passes for both Friday and Saturday night will be $30 for adults, $15 for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. For information on the facility, please visit www.NEASpeedway.com .
