Jason Hiett and Jonathan Davenport split Southern Nationals/March Madness wins at Cherokee
GAFFNEY, SC (March 2, 2014)—Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL picked up $3,000 and his first-ever victory at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC during Night One of March Madness on Saturday March 1 which was sanctioned by the Southern Nationals Bonus Races.
Defending Southern Nationals Series Champion Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA led all 60 laps on Sunday Evening March 2 for the $10,000 payday in the Southern Nationals Bonus Races at Cherokee Speedway. This was Davenport’s second March Madness victory.
The next Southern Nationals Bonus Races will be a double header of racing on Sunday May 25 at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN paying $5,000 to win then on Monday May 26th at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC paying $3,000 to win. The Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil will kick off March 14 & 15 at Volunteer (TN) Speedway for the Spring Thaw Weekend which pay $4,000 and $10,000 respectively.
