(02/21/11) --- TIM BUSHA of Boaz Alabama is chasing RONNIE JOHNSON of Chattanooga, Tennessee into his home state for the annual BAMA BASH this weekend, trailing in the Southern Power RANKINGS by a mere 5-PTS. Thanks to a $3,000 payday this past weekend at Winchester (TN) Speedway's WINTERFEST, the #15 "Kilpatrick Chevrolet, Stealth Racing Carburators" sponsored GRT racer kicked-open the Top-5 talleying system without RJ gaining any ground due to a 7th place run. LAMAR SCOGGINS of Cleveland, TN (up in the RANKINGS from 6th to 4th in the standings) picked up his 2nd Top-5 finish of the early season, setting himself directly behind RAY COOK, whom is a strong contender at Green Valley Speedway and is a good pick to pocket the $10,000 SRRS series prize, this Sunday. And finally BUB McCOOL of Vicksburg, Mississippi seems to have found some power, already taking a pair of Top-5's and outta East Bay (Florida) to-boot. This doesn't include his victory out in Arizona back in January. Early March events are coming up in Clarksville, TN and Gaffney, South Carolina. Two-time Southern Power RANKINGS Champion Chris Madden got his first Top-5 of the season and is expected to get hot with the opening event at Cherokee Speedway.
