Tazewell Speedway kicks off 2014 season with $1,500 to win LLM race 3/22
Tazewell Speedway kicks off the 2014 season on Saturday, March 22 with the 5th annual Charles Trammell Memorial. This year’s event features a $1,500 to win race for the limited late models. Also racing will be sportsman for $700 to win, modified streets, pure streets, four cylinders, and classics.
Charles Trammell was a championship racer and Tazewell Speedway Hall of Fame member who passed away in 2008. Trammell collected many wins at Tazewell and at other tracks across the region. He was the first of the racing Trammells that saw son, Jack, also become a championship and Hall of Fame racer and current racer, Jason, who has scored numerous wins and championships at Tazewell over the last several years.
Pit gates open at 4:00 and grandstand gates open at 5:00. Hot laps are scheduled to begin around 7:15 with qualifying and racing action to follow. General admission is $12 with kids nine and under admitted free. Pit admission is $30.
Tazewell Speedway is located just two miles northwest of Tazewell, Tennessee. Going north on US 25-E, turn right and then left onto Bacchus Rd, and then 1.8 miles north, then .8 miles west and the race track is located on the left.
