Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series invades Tazewell Speedway

Tazewell, Tennessee - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, May 30 for the 9th annual Toyota of Knoxville 50. The $10,000 to win event is one of the longest running events with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Don O'neal leads the series point standings heading into Tazewell. O'Neal captured the most recent series event by winning the Show Me 100 this past weekend. O'Neal stretched his lead over 3-time and defending series champion Jimmy Owens who sits second in series points. Earl Pearson Jr., Steve Francis, and Eddie Carrier Jr. round out the top 5 in LOMDS points.
Former Toyota of Knoxville 50 winner Scott Bloomquist sits sixth in points followed by defending race winner John Blankenship, 2011 winner Jared Landers, Brian Shirley, Dennis Erb Jr., Jason Hughes, and Jason Papich.
The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will have to battle regional standouts such as Chris Madden, Billy Ogle Jr., Mike Marlar, Vic Hill, Bryan Hendrix, Jeff Wolfenbarger, and more.
Also on the racing program for Friday, May 30 will be the sportsman division for $700 to win, modified streets and classis cars for $500 to win each, pure streets for $350 to win, and four cylinders for $300 to win. Tazewell's limited late models will not be racing.
Pit gates open at 2:00 and grandstand gates open at 4:00. Hot laps are scheduled to start around 7:45. General admission tickets are $25 for adults, children 9 and under are free. Pit passes are $40, children 12 and under are $30.
