Blake Brown Bags Modified Mayhem $1,500 Victory at Richmond Raceway
Richmond, KY- July 8, 2017 – Richmond Raceway would present its annual Modified Mayhem event on Saturday evening for the Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modifieds and Blake Brown of Corbin, KY would take the win and a $1,500 payday. Other feature event winners included John Whitney of Clarksdale, OH in Sonic Late Models, Eddie Stewart of Manchester, KY in AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks, Tyler Hayes of Pine Ridge, KY in Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders, and Blake Brown of Corbin, KY in Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
Blake Brown would lead all twenty-five laps of the Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modified $1,500 to win Modified Mayhem main event. Dennis Roberson would finish in the runner-up position, with John Jackson claiming the final podium position with a third-place effort. Jimmy Robinson and David McWilliams would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers in the nineteen car starting field were Josh Rice, Kevin Harkins, Brent Estes, Zach Powers, and Kelly Riggs.
In the Sonic Late Model twenty-five main event, Tripp Gerrald would lead the first seven laps of the event until tangling with a slower car that spun in turn three, ending Gerrald’s night. This turn of events would put John Whitney in the lead of the race and would lead the remainder of the way to score his first win of the season at Richmond Raceway. Tenth place starting James Rice would finish second, with Jason Barrett, Derek Fisher, and Connor Meade. The remainder of the top ten finishers in the twenty-two car starting field would be Jeff Watson, Alan Magner, Jeff Arnold, Brandon Fouts, and Chris Ruble.
The AR Bodies KDRA Super Stock main event would see Eddie Stewart grab the checkered flag in the fifteen lap main event. Robby Perkins would finish second, while Jeremy Howard would claim the third place finishing position. Logan Preston and Travis Preston would complete the top five respectively. Rounding out the top ten finishers would be Chad Barrett, Tyler Collis, James Crowe, Chris Blanton, and Greg Hensley.
Tyler Hayes would score his third Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinder feature victory of the season at Richmond Raceway taking the checkered flag first over Jeremie Bretz and Brandon Creech. Greg Hensley and Jeremy Porter rounded out the top five. Completing the top ten finishers would be Steve Perkins, Ashley Logan, Gunner Johnson, Heather Bretz, and Caleb Ratliff.
The Mini-Cup/Cyclones would make their first appearance of the season at Richmond Raceway and Blake Brown would park his machine in victory lane. Teammate Dylan Rutherford would finish second, with Glenn (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)erson and Felicia Patterson completing the running order.
