The wait was finally over for the opening day of Lakeside Speedway, new owners, new way of thinking, new sense of what might lie ahead for the old gal and the racers and race fans that have embraced this track for so any years.
New paint, some new walls, the place looked pretty good to these old eye's that have walked the concrete and dirt of these hollowed racing grounds and seen things start to go down hill just a little. New people always bring in a new attitude and a flesh outlook to a situation. Here's hope for the future of the facility and many happy hours we will spend together watching racing at it's finest in the Kansas City area.
I had a feeling we would not make the whole race program so I decided to shoot the heat races in case I needed some filler for the show, so here's the whole deal one hour and four minutes of the opening day races.
Did I forget to turn the camera on or did they really only run 5 or 6 laps in the B-Mod a-main and call it a complete race? I just don't remember help me out, this was all the video I had on the camera. Enjoy.
