I'm not certain that would even buy one of the modifieds the NASCAR rejects are building.

I know a couple of guys out here who buy 2 new Sport Mods every year with 602 crates for $32K and sell them at the end of the season for $12-13,000. Most Sport Mod shows around here pay $175-300 to win.

The old saw about the way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a large fortune holds true.

The first problem with crate isn't speed, its too much traction combined with too little HP. The second issue with crate is its socialistic in nature, set some rules let me choose my own parts, then let the "hobbyist" who doesn't wash his car buy a crate if he wants to.

As far as cars go, what happened to building your own? Or buying a wrecked DLM and putting a clip on it? All this hiking up BS has wrecked dirt racing, convincing everyone you have to "BUY" the latest greatest to run good. I blame to the sanctions/tracks for not enforcing rules for too long. Mods were suppose to be economical, now how many versions of them are there?

Too many classes dilutes fan interest. Back in the 80s & 90s you had sportsman, modified and late models at most tracks. It was simple and easy to follow. Now the show gets dragged out and sometimes don’t even complete the show due to cerfews. Just like with any business you need to rely on fans or customers to make it work. They’re appealing to the racers and race teams instead of the fan interest. Same thing in NASCAR. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or brain surgeon to figure out that’s how a business works. Give the fans/customers what they want and they’ll keep coming back.

It won’t help cut costs to race but will help tracks make more money then you can also payout more as well which will draw more cars. Wish I had time to take over the racing world and save it but I don’t. Can’t believe how these racing leagues can’t figure out how to run a business.
