Jim Leka was banned from his home track and never had to explain a bad slide job, and he is in the Illinois dirt racing hall of fame. He is a UMP national champion.

Barry, wasn't that Leka ban the result of a team from Springfield having to be escorted on their way back to Springfield from Macon Speedway all the way to the Macon County line by Macon County Sheriff's Deputies, or was it something else? IIRC the car from Springfield was yellow & white and carried the #24.

I remember watching Jeff Leka drive Jim's late model at Macon due to the banning of Jim. Jeff would drive the racecar out onto the street east of the speedway so Jim could work on it bein's how Jim would have been arrested if he set foot onto racetrack property! That whole deal went on for a couple of season's, or more! The whole spectacle drew dozens of spectators to the east pit entrance gate just to watch! LOL!
