Double Header Weekend on Tap for ULTIMATE Southeast Competitors August 2nd and 3rd
Carnesville, Georgia – The ULTIMATE Southeast Region drivers will be in action this weekend for a big doubleheader in Georgia and South Carolina. On Friday night, August 2nd the Series makes it first appearance at the Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia since 2017. The Lavonia event will pay tribute to National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer and local legend Buck Simmons. The Buck Simmons Memorial will pay $4141 to win the 41 lap feature. On Saturday, August 3rd the Series returns to the Modoc Raceway in Modoc, South Carolina for the 3rd Annual Clarks Hill Classic. The Clarks Hill Classic event pays $4000 to win for a 40 lap feature.
Defending Series Champion Zack Mitchell of Woodruff, South Carolina holds a comfortable margin over second place Daulton Wilson of Fayetteville, North Carolina in the season-long point standings headed into this weekend’s events. Just behind Wilson is Spartanburg, South Carolina’s Anthony Sanders; Jeff Smith of Dallas, North Carolina and Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, South Carolina all of whom are expected to be in action this weekend. Many other local and regional drivers are also expected including 3-time Series Champion Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Georgia; Colbert, Georgia’s Kenny Collins; Fayetteville, Georgia’s Matt Dooley and John Henderson of Aiken, South Carolina among several others.
