Lee County (Iowa) Speedway - Question? Thaw Brawl.

Thinking of going over there for the Saturday, March 28th portion of the MARS sanctioned Thaw Brawl.
Is the racing good there and is it worth the drive from Northwest Indiana?

I have always enjoyed all late model shows that I have attended at Donnellson. I love the way the front stretch stands sit in relation to the track. Open late models coming off of 4 and roaring down the front stretch there is one of my favorite race track settings anywhere. Big, wide track that is usually racy. Nice Fairgrounds facility, very well kept, camping hookups just to the west of the pits. I would love to go to this event, but the weather at that time of year makes the long drive that I would have a bit too risky. If I were within just a few hours of SE Iowa, it would be a no doubter to hit this event.

Been there twice, very good late model racing, RV camping with hookups next to pit area, diamond in the rough, very small town, not much there.

Been there for a modified show, looking forward to see supers hit the track. Great racing...

Outstanding track prep, timely shows. Good PA, good lighting, concessions are good, good sight lines. Concrete bleachers, so bring a cushion. Get there early, if the weather is good, the place should fill up quickly. With that being said, this is a Tony Izzo promoted show, so not sure how much if at all the local promoter will be involved. But yes, it is worth the trip!

Definitely worth the trip. I've probably seen 45 shows at Donnellson the past 25 years and most times the track has been racy. Hoping for some dry weather over the next five weeks.
