Fairmont, WV's Jared Hawkins triumphant in 33rd annual Jim Dunn Memorial!
(Muskingum County Speedway, Zanesville, OH)
The evening was kicked off with Wag 'n Tails Pet Grooming / Tri - County Overhead Door Qualifying where Pleasant Hill, OH's Matt Westfall came very close to shattering the Muskingum County Speedway track record with a 15.17.
Dresden, OH's Devin Moran outdueled Westfall to win Heat #1, Zanesville, OH's John Wyer dominated Heat race #2, Jared Hawkins took Heat #3 & RJ Conley took Heat #4.
Devin Moran jumped out to an early lead in the 50-lap Jim Dunn Memorial feature event, his biggest lead was about 5 car lengths on Jared Hawkins on lap 7. By lap 12, Jared reeled Devin in and passed him on the bottom in turns 3&4. Jared never looked back and cruised to his 1st ever Jim Dunn Memorial win. 4th starting RJ Conley would pass Moran a few laps after Hawkins and kept Hawkins in his sight but never had any real challenges at the lead. 7th starting Jason Jameson from Lawrenceburg, IN would battle his way from 7th to 3rd on the bottom of the race track.
Jared Hawkins won the $10,000 Cash, the legendary artwork from Roger Warrick, the beautiful Entry Door worth up to $10,000 from Gloryiew Windows and More & etches his name onto the Jim Dunn Memorial Champions list!
Hanover, OH's Kevin Morehouse jumped out to an early lead in the $1,500 to win Modified feature but fell victim to mechanical woes mid-race. Anthony Kinkade would take the lead from Morehouse pulling off and hold off a charging Cody Parker to win the $1,500 top prize. Zanesville, OH's Cody Parker would settle for a 2nd place finish & Newark, OH's Aaron Scott would round out the podium finishes.
4th starting Brandon Gardner would have a race long battle with Rob Smith but would eventually overtake him on the bottom of the race track and win the $500 to win Street Stock feature.
Zanesville, OH's Chris Dyer stuck it to the high side and dominated the 4 Cylinder main event. Dyer held off Kyle Moyer who was breathing down Dyer's neck the entire race. Colliers, WV's Bill Tennant settled in for the 3rd and final podium finish.
