Solenoid/starter/battery problem?

I have a standalone solenoid that I thought went out. After replacing it, all I can get is one click down at the starter, then it is dead with nothing. What should be the next thing I should check? When I first replaced it, I got that buzzing sound at the solenoid, but that no longer happens.

Your starter is bad, I had the same problem last year
