House Republicans blocked a Democratic effort to require a debate and vote on releasing the Epstein files to the public. The procedural vote would have given the Democrats House floor control so the Republicans voted against the effort.

They did not want to turn the floor control over to the Democrats, so they voted this down. Pesky details on this one but I can see how the optics plays on it if you don't read the details.

211 Republicans did vote, 9 didn't. That would be nine short of unanimous.

Epstein died in 2019. Why didn't Biden's admin release the Epstein stuff if it was such a nothingburger?

Epstein was connected. They all have to protect that. But it's great now to see the left finally asking for it.
That's such a poor excuse there's no way you actually believe that.

Trump made it a part of his campaign. Clinton better watch out!!!!

He's clearly acting very guilty and this just shows it.

Biden didn't release it because it shouldn't be a politicized issue. The DOJ and other agencies should be separate from the interests of the ruling party and because the Democrats actually have morals they didn't.

Yep, House Republicans just voted UNANIMOUSLY to block the release of the Epstein files.

Never forget that Trump made the Epstein Files a part of his campaign. They constantly stated they would release them. They constantly tried to convince everyone that the left were the "deep state".

    Never forget.

    Not at all.

I’ve gotten your <and ss12> point for a looooooooooooooong time now. I’d say everyone on the 4m forum that reads the back page gets your point. Do we really need to rehash it over and over and over again? Really? Do we?

Let me try a different approach or angle —- What can I do to help your cause to change what you want changed? Seriously, what can I do to help?

I agree with lurker about the "living rent free" comment. That pretty much nails it in a nutshell. But onto the other thing (Epstein).

Over promised and under delivered. For sure. Was I hoping for more? Yeah, I probably was. Was I expecting more? Nah, not really. Epstein was probably an intel asset since the early 80s. Was he CIA, Mossad, MI6, or any combination of the three? Quite possibly. Was he running a blackmail intel ops against some very powerful people? Well, it sure does seem like it.

You like to drop the insinuations that Trump was somehow implicated in the perversions of Epstein Island. Really? Seriously? Don't you think after all these many years of the left going after Trump that if they had one shred of evidence to support that, that they wouldn't have already played that card? After all the stuff they tried to gin up on the guy and the many ways they tried to go after him if they would have had one scintilla of anything connected to him (other than a couple trips on a flight log) that they wouldn't have played that hand by now? Heck, the left wanted him so badly they would have even thrown Bubba under the bus with him to get him. That epic p00nhound Clinton would have been tossed aside to get at Trump and you know it.

When you pose these questions ask yourself this one too. Do you think if Harris would have won (big if) that her administration would have released absolutely anything regarding Epstein? Do you think the outcome would have been any different? Cause I sure don't. The only difference, I don't think her admin would have even brought it up. We have to face it. Epstein was connected. But Trump's people very famously did talk about it. Which brings me to...

Bondi. I'm not really impressed with her. I think she is a midwit playing above her station. But she's always been a loyal player going back to her days in Florida. Her days in Florida are problematic to me because she was one of the very first to throw George Zimmerman under the bus in regards to the Trayvon Martin case. She goes with the flow instead of doing what is right. This situation has made her look pretty foolish going back to the release of those binders to the influencers and the comments she has been making about this case. Lesson to be learned. Shut your mouth, do the work, let staffers and spokespeople do the talking because it is a lot easier to let them go when things go wrong. As bad as I think she is currently doing she still has a long way to go to get as bad as Merrick Garland. But, I wouldn't mind seeing her replaced by Harmeet Dhillon.

Patel. I still have some hope but it is not because he has screwed up badly. The FBI is rotten. Their motto should be - institution over constitution - because that's what they are about. I think when he and Bongino came in it was like a new captain and XO taking over a mutinous ship. There's only so much they can do. I think they have been surrounded with people from within the agency who are just taking up their time with busy busy things. Sir, this needs your attention. Sir, you need to see this. Sir, you need to be here for this. The first couple months of seeing Patel in the job was like seeing a Make A Wish kid at the FBI.

Bongino. I personally never cared for him (much like I never cared for Hannity). Never liked the radio show and his New York schtick. He's tough guy. How do I know that? He's said it again and again and again on his show. He's made a lot of boastful claims and now they are coming home to roost. Bondi made him look like a jack @ss and there are rumors he's thinking about resigning. We'll see. I doubt he's there in another year. I wouldn't wish his job on anyone. The deputy director is the one who actually runs the FBI. The director is the figurehead. The FBI apparatus is intent on protecting the FBI appartatus. Patel and Bongino are the summer help. They (career FBI) are the we-bes. We be here before you came. We be here after you leave.

For both Patel and Bongino, heck, all three, quit going on the shows. Quit doing all the interviews. I get the transparency thing but this Epstein thing backfired because they said too much and promised too much. Past FBI directors and deputies never made appearances unless they were called before Congress to lie and obfuscate. There are others in the admin who could do a little less face time as well. Kristi Noem could ditch the tactical hair extensions and quit playing dress up like she's an operator on ICE raids. I mean, Brooke Rollins (Sec of Ag) is a pretty lady but we're not dressing her in Daisy Dukes and posing her on tractors and combines. Go to work, do your job. I just don't go for influencer behavior. But hey, that's me. On the plus side I think there are some in the admin who are doing a solid job.

    Over promised. Under delivered.

The first Trump admin was beset by some who were not loyal. I think with some of the picks this time around he went for loyalty. But in a couple cases the loyalty outran competency. That would be Bondi in my book. She needs to do better. Can she do better? We shall see.
I think the Epstein stuff is well overblown. People (particularly those on the right) have this weird obsession with wanting there to be a huge pa3doph1le ring full of billionaires just to fulfill some belief they have.

I think there a lot less people involved than people make out. I think he had a couple of close people that he in engaged in horrible activities with. I'd be willing to bet that one of those few people, is Donald Trump. To what extent, I don't know?

Had Biden done the things mentioned above, MAGAs would be screaming that he was involved with Epstein, and rightfully so. It certainly paints a very nasty picture. I find it very had to believe you wouldn't claim that Biden was involved with Epstein had he done the above.

Why didn't the left use it? Because the DOJ shouldn't be politicized. Back in normal times, it wasn't.

I don't think Harris would have released them. Why? It's largely more insignificant than people believe. It also shouldn't be thrown around for political purposes, as mentioned earlier.

Bondi's a liar. It's been proven. The big question is why? Why did she say she had a client list on her desk?

Patel is horrible and not fit for office. Any 2020 election deniers fall into that category.

The part about loyalty is important. Trump has employed a bunch of yes men. Trump was actually tolerable when he had competent people who wouldn't bend over to him in a heartbeat. I'd honestly be fine (or at least tolerating) with Trump had he actually chosen competent people with some form of morals. It's why Trump's first term wasn't really that bad.

You both remind me of the lady famed on the shorts vids screaming “NO” when Trump beat Hilary when everyone thought Hilary had the Presidency in the bag. Kind of pitiful, shallow, and living rent free in your head. I’m rather bored with all of the back page trolling hate directed at our President Trump. Remember, he is our President, like it or not. I didn't like Obama, but I didn't go to the lengths that you <and ss12> go to, trying to defame Obama.

I think you've kind of missed my point.

Republicans are the ones who have turned politics into a completely uncivilized sh1tshow. Trump and his rhetoric have led to the Democrats being labelled all kinds of ridiculous things. They will happily claim that Democrats are part of the deep state and that they are all evil human beings.

Take a look at the stuff they're very own lord and savior has been involved in. They'll happily call Democrats all kinds of things but they dare not make any comment on what they're "daddy" has done.

This isn't defaming by the way. Everything listed above IS true and HAS happened. You've got it backwards about where the defaming has come from.

Now I'll concede that a certain section of the Democrats, mainly being the progressives and left leaning moderates, have also taken rhetoric too far. Let's not forget where this all started though.

Obama wasn't involved with Epstein, he didn't joke about how he groped women, and he didn't say he'd date a 10 year old in 10 years time.
