Has anyone been able to repair cracks in the valve seat area of these heads? I've got 4 that are cracked there, not bad, but still cracked. These heads are getting hard to find in my area. thanks, F-9

I did that for years, but not every week. I'd take them apart, sand them down smooth, paint them, used grease out of the gun, & duct tape them to keep them as clean as possible. I never had a problem...

Hey man, thanks for the tip!! at least now how to re-set the tach & go from that!!! F-9

Ok, put in the stock TFI distributor with the V8 module. Would that module make the tach hand go crazy? I had the Pro Comp (that went bad) & MSD in it & it worked fine. If that's the case, how would...

I've read quite of posts about the changes to make on these carbs, but didn't see anything about the accelerator pump size. It shows a 30 & 50. Going on a 2.3 short rods (5.2) .040 over, stock intake...

I think some use a an older model 6 cyl truck bearing. When I ran the 2.0, I welded the sleeve from another bearing to it. I ran them for 8 years that way & never had an issue.

It does have an adjustable gear. Right now the cam is on zero. Was thinking about going 4 advance, but wanted to find the float issue before I did that. The head has been cut to the bottom of the...

I'm chasing what seems to be a valve float issue. Everything was bought together so it would be like a matching set. Spring pressures were checked & set up (from what the machine shop told me). When...

Anyone running this distributor on the 2.3 ford? I'm turning right at 7500 put it seems to have a ignition flutter at the upper end of the RPM range. I've got a TFI with the v8 module to put back in...

I did put the washer at the spring inside the pump & seemed to help. thanks to all for your input!!! I still might look into the melling pump too.

Speedway Motors has them. Just remove the springs & drop them in the top of the spring.
-
just would be more comfortable with a little more pressure. Everything is new, but set up a little loose.

I've heard of people placing washers between the oil pump & pick up tube. Is there some "rule of thumb as to how much is needed for an increase in pressure? F-9

I've got the TFI distributor with the V-8 module. When setting the timing, do you set your total advance at idle speed, or at 3000 rpm as some do with other set ups? This is for the 2.3 Ford engine. ...

Hey Browndog, I never said anything to him. He just wont do anything else for me. I've since found out, he's not done much with the performance side with the 2.3's!! Wish I knew that sooner...

Ok, found the problem!! You can't make this stuff up. here's what I found out. Now keep this in mind, this guy works in a machine shop. Was putting in a new cam & bearings. When putting the new cam...

yea "62" wish I could !! Is there such a thing as oversized cam bearings if the head is line bored?
-
Well, pulled the pan. The rod bearings looked good, but all of the mains showed a good amount of wear. Also checked the oil pump & valve was not stuck. I'm going to put all new bearings & a turbo oil...

Well pulled all the rod & main caps, rods look good, but mains looked pretty rough. The guy I bought it from couldn't remember what the engine came out of. The block # is, E89E-6015-AD, & crank is...
