here's photos of 3 types of fuel pressure/by-pass systems.the bg kit in the center I fill is the better one but most run the one on the left it's just a simple ball valve that closes as you get on the throttle.the last one to the right is a pressure reg at the back of the log that regulate the fuel pressure going back to the fuel cell it does not work well with alky because your pressure is set and does not adjust as the throttle requires more pressure.I drove for a guy once that used this type it worked on small tracks with the psi set at 9 pounds but it did stumble coming off the corners.

I have the one to the right, the regulator at the end of the fuel log. Pressure is about 6 1/2 at idle and goes to 7 off idle .

they have multiple types of the one on the right. Some are just a diaphram when pressure gets so high it bypasses. Some have a jet to bypass at idle, then the diaphram is set for full throttle.

I think w/ the stock mount pumps you are to use the throttle bypass like shown in the first 2 pictures. they do the same things just look slightly different.

Some people do run the one on the right w/ a pill with the stock mount pump. But i think the throttle bypass is better w/ stock mount pumps.

mine is like one on right except pressure gauge is hooked up to middle of fuel log and the back of regulator is blocked off we run 7 psi constant and have had no problems
