The good used 1184 bowtie blocks with billet caps usually go for $800.00 to $1,000.00

I just picked up one with the billet center caps, (they make them with all 5 as well) and after talkin it out I plan on at least 650 hp and 8000 range for rpm...

Hopefully that helps in your decision.

The bowtie sportsman block doesn't have billet caps. They are splayed nodular iron caps.$500.00 is a good price. 700hp won't hurt that block.

There is one on an Auction site here in New Zealand minuss caps but when you consider bying caps and line boring a SHP looks real good, in fact an SHP looks good compared to almost anything these days.
