Default 2300 Build on Horsepower TV

Just an FYI, they are going to be building a 2300 on Horsepower TV this weekend on Spike. From their website it looks like Esslinger must be paying for it because the thing is chock full of Esslinger parts.

No, we didn't pay for it, but we did donate that engine to a great charity! It's an SVO headed 2700... I can't wait to actually see the footage!

That exact engine is available for ~$14k with dyno time only. Carb to pan including header and ignition. It would normally go for $15-16k if you just called up and ordered one tomorrow!

same reason it costs more to build a ford or dodge then a chevy, demand for the parts. toyota and nissan parts are even higher priced then fords. tech wise the v-8s are no higher tech then a 2.3. the engine build does seem excessive. the only class around my area that engine would be legal in is a 4cyl winged sprint class and it might be too big for that class.
