    Default Extreme tight on entry

I just made the move from late models to modifieds and CAN'T get the car to turn in. I have a 2010 Shaw by Landers with baseline setup top to bottom.

I believe my problem is linked to the 90/10 shock. I only have 1 1/2 inches of shaft sticking out at ride heights and it is bottoming out on braking. Do I even need a laydown shock if my pullbar has a brake biscuit? If so, how much shaft should be sticking out at ride heights?

    Any other suggestions appreciated!

Two different things I noticed. One, for me, not enough LR. Two, is the 90/10 to the right of center on the rearend? If it is, move it to the left. You can remove the 90/10 and that will free up enrtry quite a bit.

Forgot about brake bias and are you still on the gas when entering?

Took my 90-10 off and my car was night and day better on entry. I didn't change anything else.

are you running a brake floater? our 09 shaw was ALWAYS tight on entry with the brake floater... Raise the LS % a 1/2 % and increase bite to 60# and remove the 90-10 if your on a brake floater....

with that much shaft showing on 90-10 might look at pinion angle....i would leave it on in case the pull bar would break...never had one break but if u did and didn't have the shock, it would tear up alot of shhhstuff....brakes all working good? nothing else bottoming? lower bar locations?...just some thoughts, springs look good and percentages..we've been anywhere from 20-80 for bite..

    Thanks guys!

The LR is on a floater and it is tight off the gas and when on the brakes when there is traction in the track. When track slicks off and I dont use as much brake it is fine.

Pinion angle is 8 degrees....about right?

I should say I do run a dummy shock not gone completely.

I agree with jsf74, or even go down. We run a 4-0 and even though we have plenty of options including an 8-0, we always run the 4-0.

i think shaw recommends 6 on pinion angle, we're at 7..might adjust it and see if it gives you enough travel
