I'd say this post is more accurate.

I agree. With the suspension and not hearing of too many random guys showing up. It'll be a good field of cars.... Probably one of the best 40 car fields you'll see.

As a veteran attendee of the USA Nats, and taking the trend of the last 5 years into account as well as the suspensions of 5 drivers that most likely would have been there, I will confidently say there will be under 55 SLM in attendance for this year's event.
My prediction is 48 SLM.
I'm 95% confident that the 45 drivers listed below will all be there and who knows who else will pull through the pit gates before it's all said and done. I would have added K-rob too, but he lost a power-plant last week, so barring a miracle he likely won't be there.
A) The top 16 in WoO points will all likely be there.
B) 7 Lucas guys (JD, T-Mac, Dennis Erb Jr., O'Neal, Pearson Jr., Lanigan, Francis)
C) Billy Moyer will be there
D) At least these 7 SLM drivers from WI...Mars, Diemel, McGrath, T. Scheffler, Anvelink, Swedberg, and Blashe (I didn't include Yaggy here as he's in the top 16 in Woo points)
E) The big 3 UMP drivers from IL that always attend... Feger, Pierce, and Babb
F) 7 Fansfund drivers not already listed...Tyler Bruening, Jake O'Neil, Jon Henry, Gordy Gundaker, Cody Mahoney, Ray Moore, and Joey Moriarty
G) Mason Zeigler and RC Whitwell
H) Chad Simpson and Chris Simpson

Sledhead,
Are you going to be in attendance at the USA Nationals?
If you are, I'll bet you a t-shirt the car count is over 40. (Here's my terms)
If there's 1-39 SLM, you pick a kid in the souvenir alley and I will buy them a driver's t-shirt of their choice
If there's over 40 SLM, I pick a kid in the souvenir alley and you buy them a driver's t-shirt of their choice
If there's 40 SLM on the nose, BOTH of us buy t-shirts, and two young kids go home happy!!
check your pm's

Nice breakdown Zonks and that's close to what I would go with also. A couple of things specifically related to your point 'D."
Mars and Diemel will definitely be there. Anvelink is also heading out there and a month ago was considering bringing both of his cars. Then he hurt his back and was on the shelf for a few weeks so the two car plan might have fallen by the wayside.
Swedberg it wouldn't surprise me if Swedberg sits it out and it wouldn't surprise me if he's there. It depends on whether or not they decide to chase a season points title at Shawano where he's either leading or a very close 2nd in what has turned out to be a two guy title race.
I believe Mike Mullen was planning on heading out there as well. I have no idea if McGrath or Scheffler had it in their plans. Blashe was running good early in the year but over the last month or so he can't catch a break but knowing that group they'll probably go. Then the possibility exists that a couple of others not listed might head west from Eastern WI....possibly Justin Hirt. Jeff Curtin has an open car but I wouldn't bet on him going.
So the numbers you have for your WI specific drivers should be pretty close but it might not be all of the ones you've listed.

Maybe Mark Rose and Dave Fieber show up as there from Wisconsin.

I see McGrath is here parked by Peirce. Pits are a mudhole so I'm thinking it's gonna be pretty hammer down tonight. Several haulers in line yet and most still loaded so it's hard to say who's all here but I'd guess mid-40s for car count.
