That’s why I asked on here. That seemed high for a midget to me.

Flyboy I agree I was going to say it seemed a little high but, I have no clue as to what one cost but, nothing would surprise me anymore when it comes to cost and racing.

Kenny also missed a major part concerning sponsorship now a days. Social media part is huge.

After more than a week removed to let things soak in a bit, I would summarize the 2022 Chili Bowl by saying the racing was as good throughout the entire 6 nights as I ever remember it being. Weather didn't effect travel and our Airbnb was better than any of us expected it to be. I don't know how this event can get any bigger or any better but it probably will. The sheer number of racecars and spectators is starting to get just a bit overbearing. Concessions and restroom facilities are at full capacity, or maybe a bit beyond, and just moving around on Friday & Saturday night's is a small challenge. But! It's The Chili Bowl, the biggest and best dirt show of the year so I reckon those inconveniences are a tolerable byproduct of it's huge success.
As the old Three Dog Night song says "Well I never been to Heaven, but I've been to Oklahoma.......in January" (just a little variation to fit the narrative).
Counting the days 'till 2023 to make that 9 hour trip west, again!

That was a total disaster. Yes. Pretty unusual to see DLM’s upside down.

Used to be. But now that they've allowed the pizza delivery cars to be all twisted up, jacked up and half turned over just going down the straightaways most of the time it's a lot more common.
Those pizzas must take a serious beating when they get to rollin' over!

What’s the payout to win the Chili Bowl?

What Does It Pay You Ask........
More national recognition than any other dirt race, a huge resume' builder for driver and car owner, a ton of prestige for both driver and car owner, a kick in the ass to a racing career (just ask Dave Blaney, Donny Beechler, Tim McCreadie, Kevin Swindell, Rico Abreu or Christopher Bell, among a few others) and last but not least...............A GOLDEN DRILLER! The Chili Bowl Golden Driller is one of, if not the most coveted trophy's of any dirt event in existence.
What does it pay to win or what it pays for 5th-10th-15th-20th or last? I have no idea and I don't care. Very few, if any, of the 15,000 people who buy tickets and attend all 6 nights care, either. What it pays in dollars is pretty much meaningless. I'd venture a guess that most of the 380 drivers who participate don't give a fat rat's ass if all it paid was a pat on the back and the warm glow of victory.
Just to qualify for the Saturday night A main or to win a prelim night A main is a monumental feat in itself and is cause for reverence and huge respect!
Only a pizza delivery car fan such as yourself with a huge inferiority complex would even wonder!
Does that answer your really dumb question? LOLOL! @ you.
