Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Models Move October 7th Event to 201 Speedway-$3,000 to win
SOMERSET, KY (September 26, 2017)—The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series is pleased to announce a change in the Saturday October 7th event. The $3,000-to-win and $250-to-start Super Late Model event has been moved to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Ky. as part of the Paul H. Salyer Memorial at the Steve and Stan Howard-promoted facility.
The date and event was moved to 201 Speedway after the abrupt closing of Richmond Raceway this week. “I want to thank Steve and Stan Howard for allowing us to keep a points race on the series schedule without completely losing it,†stated series promoter Chris Tilley. “We thank them for accommodating our series and really look forward to working with them and their entire staff again and we really look forward to 2018,†said Tilley again.
The tour was scheduled to be at Richmond Raceway for the Finn Watson Memorial on October 7th but the Yantz Family closed the facility this week for the remainder of the season. “On behalf of the Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Late Model Series and the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Bonus Series, we thank Larry, Chad and Sarah Yantz for their hard work and dedication to Richmond Raceway and their many years at Ponderosa Speedway. We thank them for their friendship and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors,†said Tilley.
This will mark the fourth-ever event at the 201 Speedway as Greg Johnson, Jackie Boggs and Eric Wells captured victories during series visits in 2016 to 201 Speedway.
On Saturday October 7th, the Open Wheel Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks and Sport Mods will also be on hand along with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Super Late Models.
