Spring Nationals Series Invades Tazewell Speedway on April 13th for $5,000-to-win

BRASSTOWN, NC (April 7, 2018)—The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee RV will get back to action for Round 3 and Round 4 of the 2018 campaign on Friday Night April 13th at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tenn. followed by Saturday Night April 14th at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. This event kicks off a huge weekend in East-Tennessee at Tazewell and Volunteer plus NASCAR will be competing up the road at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday.
This will mark the second-ever visit by the Spring Nationals Series to the high banks of Gary Hall’s Tazewell Speedway. Billy Ogle Jr. took the $6,000 win back in May of 2015 over Chris Madden, Vic Hill, David Payne and Mark Dotson. This event will be the second of a double-header weekend as the tour visits Crossville (Tenn.) Speedway on Friday Night racing 40 laps for $4,000-to-win.
In addition to the Super Late Models racing for $5,000-to-win, the Sportsman race for $1,000-to-win, the Classics will be competing for $500-to-win, the Four Cylinders will race for $500-to-win and the Street Stocks will race for $350-to-win. The pits will open at 4:00 pm and the grandstands will open at 5:00 pm with the driver’s meeting will be at 7:00 pm with hot laps to follow. Grandstand admission is $20.00 and Pit Passes are $35.00.
Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn. and Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Ga. opened the Spring Nationals Series last weekend at Senoia Raceway picking up victories. Bloomquist leads the point standings over Clint Smith, Zach Leonhardi, Eric Wells and Shane Clanton after two events.
The tire rule for the weekend at Tazewell and Volunteer Speedways will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56. The series entry fee is $100 plus a transponder rental if needed.
