    Winter Freeze Kicks Off '26 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Slate on Feb. 5-7

    Winter Freeze XVI Kicks Off 2026 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Slate on February 5-7

    (BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The 44th edition of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series schedule starts with ‘Winter Freeze XVI’ at Screven Motor Speedway on February 5-7. Following an open practice session on Wednesday, February 4, three straight nights of wheel-to-wheel action at the Sylvania, Georgia oval will kick off the 2026 season for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties. While one driver can walk away with $40,000 in weekend earnings, the total purse money for the Super Late Models is more than $125,000.

    A $5,000 paycheck will be up for grabs in Thursday’s SAS lid lifter, while Friday’s program will be headlined by a $10,000 to win main event. The victor of Saturday’s 50-lap ‘Winter Freeze XVI’ finale will receive a hefty $25,000 first place prize. Each feature starter on Thursday and Friday is guaranteed at least $500, while the start money on Saturday is upped to at least $800. There is also a $500 Fast Time Award each night courtesy of Sharco.

    Joining the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties on the racing card during the three-day ‘Winter Freeze XVI’ extravaganza will be the CRUSA 604 Late Models, Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series, CRUSA Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, SEHA Hornets, SCDRA 4 Cylinders, and Crown Vics. The pit gates will open at 9:00am each day, while the grandstands will open at 3:00pm on Wednesday, 1:00pm on Thursday and Friday, and 11:00am on Saturday. Wednesday’s open practice session starts at 6:00pm, while hot laps get underway around 6:00pm on Thursday and Friday and at 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon.

    For the open practice session on Wednesday, grandstand admission will be FREE and pit admission will be $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids ages 8 and under. For Thursday’s opening night of racing, grandstand admission will be $20.00 for adults and pit admission will be $35.00 for adults and $20.00 for kids ages 8 and under. For Friday’s event, grandstand admission will be $25.00 for adults and pit admission will be $45.00 for adults and $25.00 for kids ages 8 and under. For Saturday’s finale, grandstand admission will be $35.00 for adults and pit admission will be $55.00 for adults and $30.00 for kids ages 8 and under.

    All weekend long, kids ages 12 and under will be admitted into the grandstands for FREE. A 4-day pit pass option is also available for $150.00 for adults and $80.00 for kids. Screven Motor Speedway is located at 6118 Savannah Highway in Sylvania, Georgia.     Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.sasdirt.com. The Super Late Model entry fee will be $120.00 on both Thursday and Friday and $150.00 on Saturday.     The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties Championship chase also begins this weekend at Screven Motor Speedway. Only a driver's best point night of the three ‘Winter Freeze’ races from February 5-7 will count towards the yearlong SAS points chase. If a driver can't attend the ‘Winter Freeze’ and still wants to run for points, it can count as one of your TWO dropped races at the end of the season.
