Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series Opening Weekend Wiped Out by Saturated Grounds
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The 2026 Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco season was set to get underway on February 27-28 in a doubleheader at Swainsboro Raceway and Senoia Raceway. Unfortunately, both Peach State tracks notified series owner Ray Cook today with news that their respective dirt ovals are heavily saturated from recent rain and cold temperatures. With the potential of more wet weather on the way later this week, the decision was made to postpone both the $7,553 to win opener in Swainsboro, Georgia and the $10,053 to win event in Senoia, Georgia.
“We hate to lose our opening weekend, but both tracks contacted me today and told me the same exact thing… they can’t even get on the track to start preparing it,” quoted Cook earlier this evening. “Just part of it with the wet weather we’ve had and the cold temperatures. We are working with both Swainsboro Raceway and Senoia Raceway to find a suitable make-up date for both races. Both are great tracks to work with and we look forward to working with both of them in the near future.”
The next scheduled weekend for the Spring Nationals tour will be March 20-21 in the state of South Carolina. On that Friday night, the newly-reopened Modoc Speedway in Modoc, South Carolina will play host to the ‘Ed Basey Memorial,’ which will shell out a $10,004 top prize. The annual running of ‘March Madness’ will then take center stage on that Saturday evening, as a $20,053 winner’s check will be up for grabs at the renowned Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. Both races will be co-sanctioned with the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties.
